Up and coming new Belfast Swimming Club, INVICTUS lifted the prestigious War Memorial Trophy  at the recent War Memorial Gala held recently at Lisburn Leisureplex.

The memorable annual event is held to commemorate those Ulster swimmers who fell in the Great War and to remember those who served and survived.

INVICTUS were proud to be part of this great event which is well supported by some of the province’s top clubs. All the swimmers put in some great performances in the water and the INVICTUS swimmers did not disappoint.

The undisputed high-light of the gala was the Men’s 6x50 Freestyle Relay with two INVICTUS teams in the final. The atmosphere in the gallery was electric as some of Ulster’s best teams powered through the water endeavouring to secure gold. The INVICTUS “A” Team stormed to victory in a fast time of 2:26.70, while strong performances from Ards  (2:27.38) and Larne (2:30.25) put them in Silver and Bronze position.
