Waterpolo Results

Ireland paid the price for a punishing travel schedule when they went down 12-11 to an unfancied Wales side after having drawn 11-11 with hosts Scotland earlier in the day in a tri-nation tournament at the NSA in Stirling on Saturday.

 

 

 

They played Scotland barely an hour after arriving in Stirling and Wales just

 four hours later.Conor Campfield,Stio McMahon,Johnny Kirk,Adam Caulfield(2 each) Johnny Donnelly,Barry Nolan and Irish/American Russell Simpkins(1 each) scored against the Scots with McMahon(6) Donnelly(2) Campfield,Simpkins and Nolan(1 each) on target against Wales

The womens team went down 12-8 to Sweden in their opening game with the goals coming from Aoife Barr and Nuala McGurk(3each) and Christine Kelly(2).Following a short break a tired team lost 12-3 to Scotland with Orla Monaghan,Nuala McGurk and Christine Kelly scoring.
