Ulster swimmers enjoyed continued success at day two of the Irish Youth & Senior Championships at the NAC on Friday, 23rd July.

Conor Donnelly (Leander) took gold in the 400m individual medley in the 17-18 years category, with a new Ulster and Irish Junior Record in 4 minutes 36.96 seconds.

A straight 1-2-3 in the 19 years+ 100m Freestyle saw Conor Leaney (Larne), Ryan Harrison (City of Derry) and Craig Meek (Leander) take the medals. Conor's winning time was 51.93 seconds.

The 100m FS for was also fruitful in the younger age groups - Curtis Coulter (Ards) took gold in 53.05 seconds with Jordan Sloan (Bangor) second in 53.44. Luke Campbell (Bangor) took gold in the 100m FS for 17-18 years in 53.03 seconds with Adam Matthews (Lisburn) third in 53.80.

Sycerika McMahon (Leander) took gold in the 100m FS (15 and under) in 57.82.

Katie Reid (Lisburn) was second in the 100m FS for 16 years as was Bethany Carson (Lisburn) in the 17 years + 100m FS. 

Bethany also took bronze in the Women's 50m Butterfly in 28.97 seconds.

There was more success for Lisburn with John Coulter taking bronze in the 16 and under 100m breaststroke.

Ryan Wray (Leander) was third in the 100m breaststroke for 17-18 years.

Michael Dawson won a great race with Barry Murphy to win the 19 and over 100m breaststroke in 1.03.78 - narrowly outside the Commonwealth nomination time.

Also in the 100m breaststroke, Alison Todd (City of Belfast) took silver in the 17+ category in 1 minute 15.16 seconds. Alison followed this up with a silver in the 400m individual medley (17 and over).

Steven McQuillan (Ards) took silver in the men's 50m butterfly in 25.20
