Brugha picked up the first pieces of silverware of the new season when they did the double over Half Moon in both the mens and womens finals of the K.O. cups at the NAC in Dublin yesterday.

The women won 10-9 (AET) after also going to extra time in the semi final when they beat Irish Senior Cup holders St Vincents 12-11. Aoife Barr (6), Niamh Barr(2) , Deirdre Cassidy and Deborah McComb (1each) scored in the final. The men avenged a 14-13 defeat in last years Senior Cup final with a comfortable enough 18-12 victory.
