The Interprovincial Competition took place in the NAC Dublin on Sunday 21st June. This was the first full interpro for a long time - for the past number of years it has been a junior competition. Unfortunately some of our top seniors were missing, some at a training camp, others unable to attend. In spite of this, Ulster came home triumphant with 2 trophies. There were some fabulous performances in all of the age bands; Ulster won quite a few of the relay events !! freestyle relay - boys 11/12 ands 13/14 boys 17/0 4 x 50 and the mixed 4 x 100 freestyle relays medley relays - girls and boys 11/12, girls 13/14 boys 15/16 and the mixed 4 x 100 medley relays Individual events; Sycerika McMahon won the 100 butterfly, freestyle and breaststroke and set a new Ulster Junior Breaststroke Record 1.10.91 Curtis Coulter won the 200 frs, 200 IM, 100 frs Jordan Sloan and Katie Reid both won the 100 back and 100 frs in their category Grace Hammond came first in the 100 fly and brs Matthew Scott won the 100 brs Robert Hoal won the 200 frs, 200 IM Donna Marie O Prey won her event 200frs Courtney Wilson 100 bk, Leon Vaughan 100 back, Ashleigh Hyland and Michael Doggart both winning the 100 brs, Sophie Adams - 100 brs and 200 IM Michael Evans and Emily Heyburn both came 1st in the 100 fly Darren Bell won the 200 IM Iain Chisholm and Charlotte Hall both won the 100 frs Ulster showed the depth and strength of swimmers with the number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places well done to all the swimmers who took part in this team event - every race counted! also thanks to the coaches and team managers who gave up their time to look after the team Keep up the training and good luck for the Irish Age Group / Youth / Open Championships in July
