Swim Ulster provides an extensive range of insurance cover to its member clubs.

This includes;

• Committee Members & Officers Insurance
• Commercial Legal Protection

Committee Members and Officers Insurance provides cover for committee members and office holders in our clubs. It provides protection against loss for which the club member may otherwise be personally liable eg. actual or alleged error, misstatement, act, omission, neglect or breach of duty, breach of trust, libel, slander, breach of contract, breach of warranty of authority, or other act actually or allegedly committed or attempted in their capacity as a Committee Member or Officer of the club.

Commercial Legal Protection is in place to pay legal costs arising from employment disputes or compensation awards that any of our clubs may become involved in. This could include the cost of defending your legal rights

• prior to the issue of proceeedings in a court or tribunal following the dismissal of an employee
• in respect of any dispute with an employee or ex-employee relating to their contract of employment

The insurance may also cover the cost of compensation arising from the breach of an employee's statutory rights.

It is ESSENTIAL that your club contacts the Swim Ulster office as soon as it seems possible that a claim under this insurance cover may be made. We will contact the insurers straight away. If a club enters into a dispute process or incurs any legal costs before contact is made with the insurers, the cover may be held to be invalid, so if in any doubt contact the Swim Office as soon as possible.
