See below for day by day reports Tuesday, 3rd August Leander's Sycerika McMahon marked the first day of competition at the British Youth Championships in Sheffield with a bronze in the 400m Individual Medley, with a time of 4 minutes, 52.78 seconds. Sycerika has also qualified for the final of the 100m Freestyle. Ulster swimmer Conor Donnelly was just short of his personal best in the 400m Freestyle, finishing in 4.04.54. Emily Heyburn swam a season best time of 1.00.92 in the 100m Freestyle and swam 2.26.27 in the 200m Butterfly. Jordan Sloan and Luke Campbell swam the 100m Backstroke. Jordan finished in 1.01.06 and Luke in 1.01.79. Katie Reid swam the 200m Backstroke in 2.24.27. Mark Wylie swam the 200m Breaststroke in 2.37.41. Wednesday 4th August, Morning session Three Ulster swimmers competed in the Boys 100m Freestyle. Curtis Coulter was the fastest qualifier in his age group in 53.23 and swims in the semi-final on Wednesday evening. Luke Campbell swam 53.57 and Jordan Sloan 53.96. Sycerika McMahon was the fastest qualifier in the 400m Freestyle in 4.19.96. Sycerika also qualified for the semi-finals of the 200m Breaststroke in 2.36.38. Conor Donnelly swam a great time of 15.59.64 to come 6th in the 1500m Freestyle on Wednesday afternoon, setting new Ulster junior and senior records for 800m and 1500m. Wednesday 4th August evening session Curtis Coulter came second in his semi-final of the 100m Freestyle in 52.79, and is looking forward to Friday night's final. Leander's Sycerika McMahon had another great day, winning the gold in the 400m Freestyle in 4.16, a 4th place in the 100m Freestyle final in 57.22 and qualified for the final of the 200m Breaststroke in 2.37.88 Thursday 5th August morning Katie Reid and Sycerika McMahon have qualified for the semi-final of the 200m Freestyle on Thursday evening. Jordan Sloan swam the 200m Backstroke in 2.14.29. Sycerika McMahon and Emily Heyburn competed in the 100m Butterfly, with Sycerika finishing in 1.04.84 and Emily in 1.05.82. Sycerika will swim in Thursday evening's semi-final. Thursday 5th August evening Ulster swimmer Curtis Coulter swam a brilliant 100m Freestyle to take silver in 52.74, and was the fastest 15 year old in the event. Sycerika McMahon was second fastest in her semi-final of the 200m Freestyle in 2.04.07. Katie Reid missed out on the final, finishing her 200m Freestyle semi in 2.07.99. Sycerika also qualified for the 100m Butterfly final in 1.03.76 and the indefatigable Leander swimmer finished 6th in the 200m Breaststroke final, in 2.37.07. Sycerika qualified 2nd fastest in girls 200m frs final takes place tomorrow night.
Friday 6th August
Sycerika McMahon won another medal, the bronze, in the 200m Freestyle in a time of 2.03.09. Sycerika also swam in the final of the 100m Butterfly, finishing in a time of 1.03.77.
